AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Music Ranch is a place of creativity, comfort and community for musicians from all walks of life.

It serves as an outdoor music venue where artists of all genres can share their common love for music. The Texas Music Ranch is family-owned and operated by Gina Cavazos.

Located off of FM 973 in Austin, the TMR sits on over 40 acres of land, passed down from Cavazos’ father, who wanted to create a music sanctuary for everyday musicians.

“One of my grandfathers was a musician and my other grandfather was a rancher so music ranch came to be,” recalled Gino Cavazos.

Cavazos lives by a creed he picked up in the army to never leave a man behind, a philosophy used at the ranch to help heal the broken artist as they seek a better life at the ranch.

“It turned into some sort of recovery where they could come and not worry about having to sleep under a bridge or give in to their habits. I know what it feels like to have a good upbringing a good family to love you. And I see a lot of lost people who are broken that don’t have that. But they come and they stay with me and we go through this together,” said Cavazos.

Cavazos believes addiction can fall onto anyone without support or a sense of family. This is why he formed a community of artists known as the “Tribe” who live at the ranch free of charge to escape the outside world.

Members of the Tribe are also provided with job opportunities through live concerts and events hosted at the ranch. With five different stages, office spaces, recording studios and campsites. TMR puts on music festivals and weekly events with performances from artists across the country.

“We are a home away from home for all musicians. We are home away from home for engineers. We are a home away from home for anyone who wants to get into the music culture. If you’re honest about it and you really want to heal. Come on out,” said Cavazos.
