H-E-B releases new ice cream flavor to help Texas schools

TEXAS — H-E-B has released a new Creamy Creations ice cream flavor to celebrate 20 years of H-E-B Excellence in Education Award. The limited-edition “Education Heroes” was released on Feb. 14 and is made of icing flavored ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and cake pieces. The new flavor is available in pint sizes and half-gallons until supplies run out.

Ten percent of proceeds will be donated to DonorsChoose to help Texas schools fill their classrooms with supplies.

The Excellence in Education awards launched in 2002 in hopes of supporting Texas public education. Over the last 20 years, the program has donated more than $13 million in funding to Texas public schools, early childhood facilities, teachers and principals and school boards.

The 20^th anniversary celebration will end with a gala on April 30 where $430,000 will be awarded to teachers, principals, school districts and early childhood education centers.
