A sculptor has transformed a busy Staten Island intersection into a work of art.

Harumi Ori created the public installation at the corner of Victory Boulevard and Bay Street.   Ori says the orange mesh pieces depict a moment in time and are based off photos she took at the intersection. The NYC Department of Transportation commissioned the project as part of an ongoing initiative where artists create one-of-a-kind pieces for locations across the 5 boroughs.

"Art is not just go to the museum so you can see the art in the nature and art in your neighborhood," said Ori.

The installation, "I am here," will be on display for the next 11 months.
