WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Legoland Florida has shared more details about how it plans to mark its 10th birthday next month.

  • There will also be pop-up birthday activities, including surprise character appearances

​The theme park, which first opened Oct. 15, 2011, will celebrate with a new attraction, the debut of shade structures over Miniland U.S.A. and a birthday celebration day.

The new attraction called The Legoland Story will open Oct. 15. The walk-through attraction will tell the history of Lego and Legoland parks and feature a variety of displays, including the first Lego toy ever created, the original minifigure and the winning models from season two of “Lego Masters.”

An original ride vehicle from Cypress Gardens’ Triple Hurricane coaster will also be on display at the attraction.

Once they’ve finished The Legoland Story, visitors will be able to participate in hands-on build activities alongside the Master Builders’ Workshop.

The celebration will also include the reopening of Miniland on Oct. 15. The area will feature new shade structures over the models, offering a “cooler” experience for visitors.

Legoland will also have Birthday Bash Party Pop-Ups that will include play moments, surprise character experiences and pop-up entertainment. There will also be birthday treats on the menu, including a Granny’s Apple cupcake, which pays homage to the park’s Granny’s Apple Fries, and a birthday latte at the new Legoland Coffee Co.

And for a photo-op, Legoland has a 20-foot Lego birthday cake on display through the end of the year.

Legoland has been celebrating turning 10 all year long with other new additions, including the 4D movie “Lego Mythica-Journey to Mythica, new build activities, Planet Legoland and Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show.
