TAMPA, Fla. — Felecia Williams' mother already took the stand on Friday as she described what happened the day her young daughter went missing. And on Monday, it is expected there will be testimony from the police who searched for her in the trial of Granville Ritchie.

In opening statements, prosecutors showed jurors these pictures from the scene, saying Ritchie did not even hesitate when he allegedly killed 9-year old Williams in 2014.

On the stand, her mother, Felecia Demerson, said she allowed Felecia Williams to go with a family friend, but instead of taking the child to church like she said she would, that woman, Eboni Wiley took the child to her boyfriend's, Ritchie's, apartment at Temple Terrace Apartment, and left her alone with him.

When she came back, she said Williams was missing.

Demerson says she trusted Wiley and thought her daughter would be safe with her.

"Their relationship was very close. Sugarplum liked to follow her everywhere she go. She would basically like most likely tuck sugarplum under her wing," Demerson said on the stand on Friday.

And court resumes at 9 a.m. Monday and it will be the first full day of testimony.
