St. Petersburg police are searching for a hit and run driver that seriously injured a bicyclist Saturday night. 

  • Bicyclist seriously injured in hit and run in St. Pete
  • Connor Bolton was traveling against traffic, hit head-on
  • Vehicle took off; possibly a GM truck or SUV

The crash occurred around 8:43 p.m. on the 4200 block of 1st Avenue North. 

Police said Connor James Bolton, 23, was riding his bicycle eastbound on 1st Avenue North against the flow of traffic. 

Police said he was struck head-on by a vehicle--described as red or burgundy in color, possibly a General Motors truck or SUV. 

Bolton came to a rest in the middle of 1st Avenue North. He was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical condition. 

Police said the suspect vehicle should have damage to the front end and possibly to the hood and windshield.
