TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa police have arrested a man accused of searching for cars to burglarize in several Tampa neighborhoods.

Demetrius Marshall, 40, is accused of burglarizing several cars within five days. 

Marshall was caught on surveillance video on Sept. 1 breaking into a vehicle in the 1000 block of West Ohio Avenue in the Riverside Heights neighborhood just before 2 a.m. 

Marshall can be seen riding his bike in the area and stopping to pull on the door handles of several parked cars in front of a home. Police say he was able to get inside of a minivan and a sedan across the street. He was seen on video leaving the area on his bike after rummaging through both vehicles. 

He was arrested five days later after a homeowner spotted him trying to break into a car near 113 West Curtis Street around 4:50 a.m.

Police said the homeowner called 911 while the burglary was taking place and officers were able to locate Marshall a few blocks away near North Highland Avenue and West Violet Street. 

Marshall is charged with three counts of auto burglary and two counts of attempted auto burglary.
