PASCO COUNTY

County locations:

• Land O’ Lakes Recreation Center, 3032 Collier Parkway, Land O’ Lakes

• Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn), 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio

• Wesley Chapel District Park, 7727 Boyette Rd, Wesley Chapel

• Old Dade City Police Station, 38042 Pasco Avenue, Dade City

Note: Sandbag locations are self-serve and are open 24 hours to Pasco County residents; however, sand will only be restocked between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  Residents should bring a shovel and be prepared to fill their own sandbags.  The Magnolia Valley site might have inmate assistance available during business hours.

The City of New Port Richey and the City of Zephyrhills are also providing sandbags to city residents daily at the following locations: 

• New Port Richey Public Works Operations Center, 6132 Pine Hill Rd (7 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

• Zephyrhills Fire Station 2, 6907 Dairy Rd (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

PINELLAS COUNTY

The City of St. Petersburg will be distributing sand bags on Saturday through 5 p.m. at the following locations. 

- Northeast Park, 875 62nd Avenue NE. (located at the Cardinal Drive entrance to Mangrove Bay Golf Course)

- James "JC" Turner Fields, 643 22nd Avenue S. (located on the south side of Bartlett Park) sand bags will be distributed in the parking lot of the fields

- Northwest Pool, 2331 60th Street N., sand bags will be distributed in the pool parking lot

For quick service, residents are asked to follow the traffic patterns and remain in their vehicle so city staff can load sand bags into the trunk or truck bed. Here's a tip: Make sure your trunk or truck bed is empty before stopping by. Sandbags are limited to 10 bags per household.

Pinellas County response/action plan

Sand bag distribution will continue Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at John Chesnut Sr. Park, Walsingham Park and Lealman Exchange while supplies last. John Chesnut Sr. Park and Walsingham Park will be open to visitors on Sunday.

The City of Pinellas Park is opening a self-service sand bag site for residents only. Residents can get up to 10 sand bags each. Residents must show a water bill and/or valid driver's license indicating they are a resident of Pinellas Park in order to receive their sand bags. Pick up location and times are:

Where: Helen Howarth Park - 6401 94th Ave N. Pinellas Park, FL 33781 

When: Thursday, August 29th from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Friday, August 30th from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm (Weekend TBD)

The City of Dunedin will have a sandbag distribution center for City residents & business owners, opening Friday, August 30th from 8am-7pm, Sat & Sun 7am-7pm; weather permitting. Location: behind Fire Station 61 at 903 Michigan Blvd. Limit is15 bags per vehicle. Proof of residency / business address required.

POLK COUNTY

Sand bag fill sites will open Wednesday for Polk County residents preparing for Tropical Storm Dorian.

A maximum of 10 sandbags will be provided to each household to help prevent water intrusion into the home. 

Beginning at 7 a.m. August 28, the following locations will provide sand and sand bags. Please bring your own shovel.

All sites will remain open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. On Friday, only the Fort Meade and Frostproof sites will remain open. On Monday, only the Mulberry, Lakeland, Auburndale and Dundee sites will be open. However, this could change depending on the storm’s track and intensity.

Due to the anticipated extensive rainfall from Dorian, the City of Winter Haven has set up a sand bag location at W.G. Roe Park in Winter Haven.

The filling station is open as of August 28, 2019. There is a limit of 10 bags per household.

The station address is 2269 7th St SW in Winter Haven. Sand and bags are available to citizens and will be replenished as needed until the weather event has passed. Residents are encouraged to bring their own shovels for filling the bags. 

There is a message board directing citizens to the location of the filling area.

CITRUS COUNTY

Crystal River and Homosassa sandbag sites to close at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 31. Locations to remain closed unless Dorian's forecast changes. 

The county's Spruce Drive boat ramp sandbag site to remain open today and tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All county locations will be closed on Monday. 

HERNANDO COUNTY

Sandbags will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the following locations: Sandbag sites are self-serve. Limit 15 bags per vehicle.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY
