TAMPA, Fla. — Two people were killed Saturday in a crash on Bayshore Boulevard that involved a motorcycle and a bicyclist.

According to Tampa police, the crash happened at about 11:30 in the northbound lanes of Bayshore near Rome Avenue.

Police said three motorcycles were headed northbound when a bicyclist attempted to cross the roadway at a cross walk near Rome Ave.

One of the motorcyclists struck a bicyclist and crashed.

The motorcyclist, in their 30s, died on scene.

The bicyclist, in their 50s, was transported to a nearby hospital and later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

A witness said the motorcyclist was speeding at the time of the crash.

"When I turned my head to where the accident happened, you could still see the motorcycle bouncing in the road and you could see the guy laying over here," the witness said. "Me and other people from all over the street came running over to his aid.

"And that's when it occured to me. It didn't occur to me that the bicyclist was involved until I looked down 30 to 40 yards down the street. That's when I realized and other people realized it was a collision. It wasn't just a motorcylist who gone down."

The crash remains under investigation.
