TAMPA, Fla. – Patients scheduled for elective procedures at some AdventHealth hospitals may have to wait until the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients starts to drop.

AdventHealth West Florida Division announced Friday it's suspending non-emergency surgeries at the following hospitals:

In a news release, the hospital system said it's currently treating more than 600 COVID-positive patients across the division's 10 hospitals — more than at any other point of the pandemic.

"All AdventHealth West Florida Division hospital locations will continue with time-sensitive urgent and emergency surgeries and procedures as scheduled," the release states.
