ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A possible suspect is in custody in Alachua County on Friday in connection with the shooting deaths of a man and a woman in a St. Petersburg home late Thursday night.

Authorities in Alachua County arrested James Pagan, 29, on unrelated charges early Friday, hours after the shootings. Pagan was known by at least one of the victims, St. Petersburg police said.

Police in St. Petersburg are filing the necessary paperwork to file charges against Pagan in the shooting deaths of Barbarajean Lombardi, 18, and Tommy Dixon, 21, authorities said.

Police were called to the home at 1738 Granville Court S late Thursday night and found the two victims, authorities said.

The investigation is continuing, but authorities said the shootings could be related to domestic issues.

Forensics experts were on the scene Friday morning.
