As COVID-19 cases increase across Florida and throughout the Bay Area, we’re seeing more people getting tested.

In Hillsborough County, the West Tampa Community Resource Center has been seeing an increase in residents coming for tests.
On Sunday, 562 tests were administered at the site. On Monday, 1,059 people got tested there. By 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, they already surpassed that number and had tested 1,070 people.
The site is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It offers rapid and PCR testing, vaccines and antibody treatments.
Spectrum Bay News 9 caught up with the Young family as they waited to get tested. The family of five needed negative COVID-19 test results to go on the seven-night cruise they have booked for Christmas.
“We were supposed to go to South Africa for vacation but we cancelled that because of COVID, the variant. So the kids are off from school so we figured, 'Wwhat the heck, why not get a cruise and head over to the Bahamas and St. Kitts and things like that,'” said Andy Young.
They had to wait in line, but things moved quickly and within a few minutes they were finished with their rapid tests.
"Very quick. Great place. Very efficient in there. Very friendly,” said Young.
The family says they’re heading to Fort Lauderdale for a few days before leaving on the cruise on Thursday from Miami. They say they’re excited to go on fun adventures as a family.
The West Tampa Community Resource Center testing site is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. For more information, click here.
