“That’s always really fun to see students outside of the classroom and up on the stage and working one on one with them a little bit more,” Bordinaro said.

She’s in her second year teaching at Auburndale High School and says she feels honored to share her passion with her students each day.

“I could not be happier,” Bordinaro said. “Every day I come in, and I am just so lucky that I get to do this job and work with these students.”

Both her parents are teachers and passed down her love of teaching to her. She’s continuing on that path and hopes to make a difference in her students’ lives.

“It’s really fun to see them connect with each other and just be themselves every day and I love to encourage that, and I love when they talk to me after school or those moments when they’re like, ‘Miss B can I talk to you about something?’” Bordinaro said. “My answer is always yes, and I love when we have those moments.”

She knows every student doesn’t have the same passion she has for theater and dance. She just hopes they’ll still gain something from her class and have fun while they learn.

“I know that not every kid is going to be going out for the lead in the musical, but I always try and show them that avenue of bringing them into the environment, making them do improv (improvisation) or find that one thing that will spark their interest,” Bordinaro said.
