ORLANDO, Fla. — Downtown Orlando is taken over right now by about 1,000 some of the most creative people in the area working to bring art closer to the public.

  1. IMMERSE 2021 is a three-day interaction art takeover in downtown Orlando.

  2. About 1,000 artists and performers will put on hundreds of shows, displays, expressions, exhibits, stories — you name it. The event allows you to get close to and even inside the art.

  3. Cole NeSmith is the executive director of Creative City Project. “[[IMMERSE]] all got started because in 2012, I looked around at all these creative friends I have and thought that we could work to make Orlando a more interesting and creative place to live,” he said while helping with setup for Day 1.

  4. IMMERSE continues from 5 p.m. to 11p.m. Friday and Saturday nights, Oct. 15 and 16. General admission is $10 (plus about $1.35 in fees). VIP packages are also available.

  5. Sunday's experience is called Color Day, and you select when you want your 60-minute timeslot to begin.
