TAMPA, Fla. — A driver is dead in a wrong-way crash on I-275.

The crash happened early Saturday morning on 275 near the entrance to I-75, near the Hillsborough-Pasco county line. At least two lanes were shut down in that area and are now back open.

Florida Highway Patrol says the driver was traveling south in the northbound outside lane when it struck another vehicle head-one around milepost 59. 

It's not known where on the highway that the driver began traveling in the wrong direction. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries.

FHP is investigating.
