2:21 p.m. update: Clearwater police have reported that all lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway have reopened. 

1:30 p.m. update: Eastbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell have reopened, as well as one westbound lane.

The crash in the eastbound lanes involved three vehicles and was east of the original crash location, according to the Clearwater Police Department. One woman was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment.

The crash in the westbound lanes involved eight vehicles and was a chain-reaction collision that began when a tractor-trailer driver could not brake for stopped traffic in time.

A total of 14 people declined medical treatment at that scene. Two people at the scene were taken to a hospital for treatment.

It happened at about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The crash is just east of Dr. Kiran Patel Boulevard. Clearwater Police said seven vehicles are involved.

Two people are being taken to hospitals.

Just before noon, officials said eastbound lanes were closed at Patel Boulevard because of a separate crash.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue remain at the scene.

No further details were immediately available. Drivers should avoid the area.
