After a very dry year so far, we are seeing some relief as rain chances increase this week.

What You Need To Know

  • Rain chances will be higher inland

  • Afternoon thunderstorms will bring “feast or famine” type rainfall

  • Coastal counties remain in extreme drought

Thunderstorms will continue to pop in the afternoons and they will cover more than half of the area on Wednesday and Thursday.

Most of these thunderstorms will be focused further inland, but we will see some hit-or-miss storms near the coast.

As is usually the case with afternoon storms, some areas could pick up a couple inches of rain in an hour, while others see very little.

Some improvement is expected in the drought for inland spots this week, but not so much near the coast.

Rain coverage will go back down again for the upcoming weekend.
