RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- Highway Patrol officers say an eight-year-old girl was struck and killed while waiting with her sister at a bus stop in Franklinville Monday morning.
- The incident happened on Whites Memorial Road just before 7 a.m.
- Eight-year-old Ayanna Ja'mae Jiminez-Crump darted into traffic and was struck by a jeep
- She died at the scene

Troopers say the two girls were waiting on the shoulder of the road as their bus was approaching.
Eight-year-old Ayanna Ja'nae Jiminez-Crump darted into traffic and was struck by a Jeep. She died at the scene.
Her sister was not hurt.
The driver of the Jeep, does not face any charges. Troopers are unsure why the child ran into the roadway.
