FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – More than 1,000 bikes will the reason behind more than 1,000 smiles this Christmas.

This is all a part of the annual Christmas tradition as the Bicycle Man Giveaway gives 1,200 bikes to children. It's been going on for nearly three decades.

Ann Mathis is the widow of the man who started it all, Moses Mathis. Before he died in 2013, she promised the Bicycle Man that she should would continue the event after his death.

With the help of volunteers, they collect bikes to make sure kids that might have nothing for Christmas, wind up with a gift of a Christmas bike.
