RAEFORD, N.C. -- A Raeford woman who created "Rocks for Hope" died of cancer Sunday night.

Ashley Linden was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, a neuroendocrine tumor.

She coped with her diagnosis by leaving hand-painted rocks with inspirational messages around the Duke Cancer Center for patients to find.

This initiative has now spread across the world.

Linden died surrounded by her family.
