With the first day of school around the corner, shopping for supplies can be a burden on many families.

That's why the Urban Mission is holding their annual Back to School Backpack distribution in Watertown. Pencils, notebooks, erasers and much more filled more than one thousand backpacks this year.

School Supplies have been donated from organizations and churches throughout the city.

"So what this really allows for them is to have a nice backpack to have the supplies they need,” said Development Director Morgan Spencer. “They can go to school and they won't be embarrassed by not having what they need and it alleviates the burden."

Book bags will be distributed again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
