Getting back to business...the show will go on at Worcester's Hanover Theater as live performances there are about to make their return.

In October the theater will hold the first indoor performance since COVID restrictions went into effect in March. Beginning October 1st and running throughout the month, they'll present "Edgar Allan Poe," a one-person seannce-style reading of two of the author's classic short stories. The performances will be held in the BrickBox Theater at the Jean McDonough Arts Center in Downtown Worcester. For BrickBox Theater Managing Director, and star of the performance, Olivia Scanlon, getting live arts back is an important part of the community returning to normal.

Scanlon, "Performing arts and arts in general generate civic life. People come to the show, they park in the parking garage and then they go have a drink before the show and then they go have a snack after the show and they pay a babysitter to watch their kids. And you know it so when you take performing arts out of that life cycle the whole community suffers a bit. As an artist it feels so good to be actually rehearsing with lights and sound and the whole thing. I can't wait to have live people in here."

Audiences will be limited to twenty or fewer people with social distancing in place. More information can be found on The Hanover Theater's web site.
