HOLDEN, Mass. - A national community outreach program is helping the family of a late Navy veteran by fixing their failing roof in Holden.

The new roof is part of the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project. Owens Corning Platinum Roofing partners with Habitat for Humanity and Vista Home Improvement to install new roofs for veterans and their families. Crews stripped the old, damaged roof and replaced it with a brand new one.

“You know with a failing roof like this, you of course get leaking, mold and mildew,” Vista Home Improvement project supervisor, Marc Fragoso, said. “We love being a part of this. I think it’s really important to have community and national outreach and focus more on home.”

Since the program started in 2016, over 325 military families have been gifted new roofs.
