NEW YORK — It's official: Next month's Tony Awards has a stage.

The awards show is scheduled to take place at the Winter Garden Theatre, where “The Music Man” is slated to begin performances in December, in Manhattan.

The event will be held Sept. 26. at 7 p.m. to honor the best of the 2019-2020 Broadway season, which was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the awards, CBS will broadcast "Broadway's Back!" a live concert celebrating the long-awaited return of Broadway.

The shows up for top honors include “Jagged Little Pill,” “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” and “Tina — The Tina Turner Musical.”

The Tonys were postponed last June because of the COVID-19 shutdown.

Last week, "Pass Over" became the first new play to be produced on Broadway in more than 16 months.
