BRONX, N.Y. - Police in the Bronx are trying to track down the ex-husband of a woman who was run over with a car and stabbed to death Thursday.

They believe that man is responsible for the killing.

Police found the body of 58-year-old Noelia Mateo on Ellsworth Avenue in Throggs Neck Thursday morning.

NY1 spoke with a neighbor who witnessed the attack.

"He got into the car, put the car in reverse and ran into the lady that happened to be underneath the car. And I hear everybody screaming and hollering. Nobody went to help her. I go close to the guy, find out that he's over there trying to hit her with a machete," said the neighbor.

Mateo died at the hospital.

Police have not yet released the name of her ex-husband or a motive for the killing.
