Law professor Zephyr Teachout is considering a run for attorney general.

She posted to Twitter on Monday that she has "decided to form an exploratory committee" to consider a run.

Teachout lost to Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary for governor in 2014.

She is one of the more high-profile candidates who has opted not to participate in state legislature's process to appoint the state attorney general. The person appointed would serve until the end of the year, as the position is up for reelection in November.
