AUSTIN, Texas — The son of a jewelry store owner who was found dead in his home in March has been officially indicted on a capital murder charge.

According to the indictment, 19-year-old Nicholas Shaughnessy hired Johnny Leon to kill his father.

In July, the Travis County Sheriff Office said it arrested Leon in College Station. Leon is charged with criminal solicitation of capital murder.

In May, Shaughnessy and his wife, Jaclyn Edison, were arrested and charged with soliciting the murder of his father.

Theodore Shaughnessy was the owner of Gallerie Jewelers in central Austin, which opened in 1995.
