Commodore Barry Park takes the spotlight in a special cultural celebration with a trifecta of art, music and cuisine.

Now in its 48th year, the International African Arts Festival is happening now through Sunday.  It features musicians, including Norman Conners and The Starship Orchestra, and the Afro-Latineers.  There's an African market place offering handcrafted jewelry, clothing, and artwork.  Cuisine ranging from Caribbean to African will also be available.

The Director of Public Programing for Riverside Park Conservancy says "we get a lot of great response from parents who are glad to have a place where their kids can come and try something new. 'Cause a lot of these kids are younger and have never tried singing in public before, and sometimes they like it and sometimes they don't."

The festival is organized by a non profit. For Tickets, or the schedule, and for more information, visit IAAFestival.org.
