The Bills have entered the regular season with just two quarterbacks on the roster the two seasons Sean McDermott's been head coach.

Tyree Jackson's trying to change that.

We're past the surprise of the UB QB going undrafted, and opening a discussion really only worth having because of Derek Anderson retiring.

Through OTA's and minicamp, we didn't see much of Jackson, with Josh Allen taking the majority of the reps followed by Matt Barkley — with a sprinkling of Tyree.

The coaching staff's raved about his work ethic, while also admitting he's got a lot to learn, like most rookies, especially quarterbacks.

Even before not hearing his name called at the end of April, it was widely believed Jackson would be a developmental project for a team, and time and patience would be needed to sharpen the skills with Tyree's fantastic athletic traits.

The question entering training camp is what does Jackson need to show to make it worth burning one of the 53 roster spots on a guy that, barring another injury run under center, won't contribute or likely even see the field in 2019? I'd say solid production in preseason games is a must, similar to how Nathan Peterman performed the past two years.

Even then, my guess is it's quite the uphill climb to Jackson to remain with a team in Buffalo come the fall.
