BUFFALO, N.Y. — Spectrum announced on Tuesday a donation of $5,000 to Buffalo City Mission.

The money will support the mission’s emergency shelter, critically needed services, clothing and meals to homeless men, women and children.

“We are grateful to Spectrum for this generous gift, which will help us continue our critical work in supporting the poor and homeless in our community,” said Stuart Harper, CEO and executive director of the Buffalo City Mission. “As Spectrum continues to lead by example in giving back to the communities where we live and work, the City Mission is proud to do our part – every day – by helping to put our neighbors in need on the path to renewal and restoration.”

The donation is being made through Spectrum’s national community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants, a $1 million programming commitment through the end of 2021.

“Spectrum Employee Community Grants enhance the positive impact our employees are already making in their communities through financial support for the vital community organizations with which they are already volunteering their time and talent,” said Mark Fitchett, area vice president of field operations for Western New York. “At its core, our business is local and we’re committed to continuing to strengthen the thousands of communities from coast to coast where our customers and employees live and work.”

Spectrum Employee Community Grants has provided funding to more than 250 nonprofits in 30 states since its inception in July 2019.
