Regional electronics recycler Sunnking presented Camp Good Days and Special Times with a donation of over $13,000.

Sunnking raised the money through its 11th annual e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser.

As part of the event Saturday, businesses across Western New York were encouraged to donate their old electronics. A portion of all the proceeds Sunnking made went to Camp Good Days and Special Times, a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering summer camp experiences to kids and families touched by cancer.

"Obviously, this past year and a half has been really tough,” Adam Shine, Sunnking vice president, said. “The world has almost been on pause. Unfortunately, the world doesn't pause for cancer, so I'm thrilled that we were able to do this in a tough, tough year. And Camp Good Days could certainly use the money now more than ever."

Sunnking says there was a 6% increase in donations this year, with over 350 Buffalo and Rochester businesses providing nearly 450,000 pounds of recyclable devices.

Sunnking will launch registration for the 2022 fundraising campaign later this year.
