BUFFALO, N.Y. — Saturday is 716 Day, which means the City of Good Neighbors is celebrating all things Buffalo.

Buffalo Riverworks teamed up with Sweet Buffalo to host the first annual Totally Sweet 716 Day.

The event featured everything Buffalo has to offer, like local vendors, food and live music.

"[At] Totally Buffalo and Sweet Buffalo, we're all about bringing the community together, and what better way to do it than on 716 Day,” Totally Buffalo and Sweet Buffalo event coordinator Kimberly LaRussa said. “We want to celebrate our great city, the City of Good Neighbors, and just have a good time and that's what this event does. And we're looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. And we know that everyone is really excited and we are too."

Admission to the event was free and ran through 5 p.m. Saturday.

Buffalo Community Fridge also celebrated the date by holding a 716 Day Community Shop and Stock Saturday by filling fridges.

Organizers say community members and volunteers met at the Price Rite on Elmwood Avenue to shop groceries and other supplies for all three community fridges in the Buffalo area.

They provide this help thanks to donations and work to fill fridges on a daily basis.

"We get together as a team,” Tamika Potts of Buffalo Community Fridge said. “There's a bunch of people behind me and we shop for goods for the various fridges that we have located throughout the community."

Organizers also invite people who are willing to donate food to drop-off donations at Unapologetic Coffee located at 1375 Main Street.
