FORT EDWARD, N.Y. — One woman pleaded guitly in connection with the strangling death of elderly woman this summer in Fort Ann.

The Washington County District Attorney says Melissa Gonyea admits to hindering prosecution, tampering with evidence and offering a false instrument charges.

This, all in exchange for her testimony against Kevin Gonyea who is facing a murder charge for the July killing of his 95-year-old grandmother, Leona Twiss.

Prosecutors say the couple moved in with Gonyea's grandparents in 2016, and were taking care of Twiss since the grandfather died.

If Melissa Gonyea keeps to her plea deal, she'll serve four and two thirds to 14 years in prison.
