A new Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday finds Americans mostly approve of the way states have handled the coronavirus crisis, but can't say the same about the federal government.

According to the poll, 59 percent of registered voters who were surveyed approve of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's response.

About 46 percent of voters nationwide disapprove of how Congress is handling the pandemic and 51 percent disapprove of President Donald Trump's response.

The poll found that 59 percent also said the federal government should be doing more to address the needs of New York City.

The poll of more than 2,000 registered voters was conducted nationwide from April 2 to 6 and has a margin of error of 2.2 percentage points.
