FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Police in Fayetteville have located and arrested a man who escaped police custody Tuesday.
- Police were looking for Martavious Tyson.
- He fled after being arrested early Tuesday.
- He was found along the Murchison Road corridor.
Twenty-three-year-old Martavious Tyson was arrested after a traffic stop in the Pamalee Drive area around 3 a.m. Tuesday. He was found in possession of an open container of alcohol and a stolen firearm.
When an officer let Tyson out of the vehicle at the Cumberland County Jail, Tyson ran off and jumped a security fence.
Tyson was found around 4 p.m. Tuesday along the Murchison Road corridor and was taken back into custody.
He was charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Resisting a Public Officer, Misdemeanor Larceny, Open Container Violation, and Rear Lamp Violation.
He's under a $110,000 bond at Cumberland County Detention Center.
