LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- 10-year-old Evelynn Parrish and her brother 9-year-old Hayden have spent the last two weeks putting up these flyers.

  • Family looking for dogs Storm and Bandit
  • Evelynn Parrish, 10, has seizures and the dogs offer her support
  • Went missing June 30

“We've looked everywhere for them,” Evelynn said. “I really love them, they were really good dogs.”

They are looking and driving through the streets of Lincolnton with Lisa Parrish, their grandmother.

“We roll down the windows and yell 'Storm, Bandit' as loud as we can,” Lisa said. “Those two and her have created a bond, they are very protective of her.”

Beyond being protective, the dogs were her heroes. Evelynn suffers from micro absence seizures. After being diagnosed by a neurologist, Evelynn's grandmother heard about therapy dogs who could help. About a year ago, they welcomed Bandit and Storm.

“Then we started seeing a change, Evelynn, she started to come out of her shell,” Lisa said.

When a seizure would start she said the dogs would lay beside her or get someone's attention.

On June 30, the dogs were accidentally let out by a family friend and haven't come home. Since then, Lisa says Evelynn's seizures have picked back up.

“If they have seen my dogs, I just want them back because I miss them,” Evelynn said.
