GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Definitely an improving weather picture as we head into the weekend.

Friday’s storms brought heavy rain and gusty winds during the afternoon, but skies cleared quickly by evening. No severe weather was reported with those storms and wind gusts were the main issue.

Peak Gusts:

  • PTI - 43 mph
  • RDU - 46 mph
  • Boone - 55 mph
  • Blowing Rock - 68 mph

Winds will subside overnight and with the dry air in place Saturday will be off to a chilly start; look for lows in the low to mids 40s. The sunniest of skies is expected for Saturday and we will see a seasonable high in the low to mid 70s.

Warmer Sunday in advance of a dry cold front that will cool things down for Monday. Highs Sunday in the upper 70s, then cooling to the mid 70s Monday with partly cloudy skies both days,

We are back into the low 80s for the rest of the work week with a few showers possible Thursday and Friday.
