ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- Sandy Parsons, the adoptive father of Erica Parsons, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder eight years after investigators believe Erica was last seen alive.

Sandy Parsons appeared in court Tuesday morning and pleaded guilty to murder, child abuse with bodily injury, concealment of death, and obstruction of justice.

The judge sentenced Parsons to 207-261 months on the murder charge, 96-128 months on the child abuse charge, 84-113 months for the concealment of death, and 10-21 months for obstructing justice.

Sandy Parsons is currently serving an eight year sentence for federal fraud charges after he and his wife, Casey Parsons, collected adoption assistance checks following Erica's disappearance.

Earlier this year, Casey Parsons pleaded guilty to charges related to Erica's death and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
