NORTH CAROLINA -- Residents along the coast who are still dealing with the aftermath of Florence are now dealing with a Tropical Storm Michael.

  • Michael is moving at a quick pace off to the Northeast
  • Only a handful of rivers will rise to minor or moderate flood levels
  • A tornado watch in in effect for much of the region

Fortunately, Michael is moving at a quick pace off to the Northeast, otherwise water level rises on area rivers could have been much worse.

Although most rivers will see an increase, only a handful will rise to minor or moderate flood levels.

Peak winds are expected to be 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

Luckily, there is little flooding expected form the rain.

A tornado watch in in effect for much of the region until 9 p.m.
