SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — Folks at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church are delivering meals to the less fortunate this Thanksgiving Day.

Nearly 50 volunteers spent the day preparing and packing Thanksgiving staples to be delivered to those without a warm meal on the holiday.

Volunteers donated more than 45 turkeys to fill the 400 plus meals.

Officers at the Saugerties Police Department delivered the meals.

Rev. Darlene Kelly says now is the time for giving.

"I believe in god's grace, Methodists love grace and we believe we show our love for god and show our love for community through helping someone less fortunate, and now is the time for us to really give from our hearts," Rev. Kelly said.

The Mission is now preparing for their next dinner, which will be on Christmas Eve.
