LOS ANGELES – Hundreds of Los Angeles Community College students now have a laptop to continue their education at home during the statewide safer-at-home order.

The Los Angeles Community College District and Foundation gave out 300 free laptops to LACCD students. Remote learning has become imperative as California residents are urged to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The district’s nine college will shift to learning online later this month. Students were able to drive up and have a laptop delivered to their cars so maintain social distancing.

 

These laptops were some of 3,000 the district plans on giving to students. Only students who pre-registered through the scholarships section were able to receive a laptop.
