“I am not going to be the governor who acts two weeks too late,” Gov. Beshear said. “I will continue to act swiftly to limit the spread and reduce the risk to Kentuckians, particularly those vulnerable populations. My promise to Kentuckians is we will work through this together and make sure we get through this.”

The 14 Kentuckians who were passengers on the Grand Princess cruise ship are now on a motorcoach headed back to Kentucky. Two others are being flown to the same, unnamed Air Force Base the 14 were staying at, and Beshear says they are having someone go get them tomorrow

The governor also said he was forced to take a test because he attended the Speed Ball in Louisville on March 7, where one of the positive Jefferson County patients was also in attendance. He said his test has come back negative.

Governor Beshear said, "If we are going to change the curve...everyone must change."

He once again stressed the importance of social distancing. He said he has seen hundreds of people enter a bar and said that must stop.

Governor Beshear will hold another live update Monday, March 16 at 9:00 am.
