LEXINGTON, Ky. — A hotel in Lexington is on a mission to return a lost stuffed animal to its owner. The missing pink sloth has found its way around the hotel recently, from working the front desk to cleaning the rooms.

What You Need To Know

  • Embassy Suites Lexington Green is working to get a stuffed animal back to its owners

  • A guest brought the stuffed animal to their desk the Sunday before Christmas

  • The hotel posted on Facebook in hopes the story will find the owner or owner’s family

  • As of Thursday, Dec. 30, they still haven't found a home for the sloth

For the past week, employees at the Embassy Suites have had an extra employee named Sloth helping around the hotel, and Trey Moreau, director of sales says she’s been a handful.

“The sloth has gotten into so many different things over the past week or so, we've caught her in the elevators. We've caught her back in the kitchen. We've caught her in the guest rooms and then last week she actually stole the trolley next store at shop Lexington green and caught her going down the road,” Moreau said.

A look back at some of our sloth adventures from this past week with the hotel team! We’ve finished contacting everyone in our reservation database, and still no luck. She might just have to become a permanent resident. Now what shall we name her? 🦥

Moreau says a guest brought the missing stuffed animal to their desk, in hopes someone would be able to find the owner.

“I was like, well, this thing's kind of cute. So we've got to try to find its owner. So that's what prompted me to reach out and just start a Facebook post,” Moreau said.

Moreau says the Facebook post has brought people from all around the country together, working to find the sloth it’s home.

“I think especially right before the holidays and going into the new year and just with everything that's gone in the world going on in the world with COVID. This has been, it's just been a way to interact with guests and maybe make them have a little holiday spirit while having fun,” Moreau said.

Moreau continues to catch sloth in all sorts of situations, and hopes to find the owner soon so he can share all of her adventures at the hotel.
