ORLANDO, Fla. -- Subtropical Storm Beryl continues to move northward in the western Atlantic, but is showing signs of decay.

  • Beryl redevelops as subtropical storm
  • Storm was previously a hurricane
  • Beryl will not directly impact the US

Beryl is 460 Miles south of Halifax, Nova Scotia, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.

Its movement is towards the north-northeast at 13 mph.

The storm was upgraded from a remnant low Saturday afternoon. Beryl had previously been a hurricane near the Lesser Antilles.

It now looks likely Beryl will become a remnant low later Sunday or Sunday night. The leftovers of Beryl will eventually impact the Canadian Maritimes on Tuesday.

The system will not directly impact the United States.
