A 14-year-old boy is dead after a shooting in Oak Hill, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence on Wood Avenue.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find the teen with a gunshot wound in the neck.
Family members told investigators they didn’t witness the shooting but did hear a gunshot.
One relative reported that the teen had a handgun in his hand.
The 14-year-old was transported to Florida Hospital New Smyrna where he died.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The shooting remains under investigation, according to VCSO.
