ORLANDO, Fla. —  Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will have a virtual queue once it opens at Epcot later this month, Disney World has revealed.

What You Need To Know

  • Virtual queue planned for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at opening

  • Visitors can try to join the queue through the My Disney Experience mobile app

  • The queue will be available starting May 27

  • Each visitor can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day, Disney says

The update was added to the official Walt Disney World website.

Starting May 27, park visitors can try to join the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience mobile app. If successful, they will be assigned a boarding group. When it's time to experience Cosmic Rewind, the app will send a notification.

Visitors should be aware, however, that boarding groups have limited availability. And each visitor can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day, according to Disney.

While the virtual queue is in place, Cosmic Rewind's standby queue will not be available. However, visitors will also have the option of purchasing Individual Lightning Lane access to the attraction. Disney has not yet revealed pricing for that.

Disney previously used the virtual queue system for new attractions, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, located in the new World Discovery neighborhood, is an indoor roller coaster — the first Disney coaster to feature a reverse launch.
