TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered his State of the State address Tuesday at the Florida Capitol as the state legislature begins its regular session.

The governor opened his address by touting the state’s achievements this year, saying Florida ranks number one for new businesses, economic growth and tourism.

He also said the state has a better employment rate than before the pandemic.

Noting increases to teacher’s salaries and expanding Parental Rights in Education, DeSantis praised the state as “number one in education freedom.”

Another legislative highlight DeSantis recognized during his speech is a proposed $2 billion tax cut package for Floridians, which includes tax-free family supplies.

One of the biggest battles DeSantis touted is Florida’s “protections in medical freedom,” including protecting Floridians from losing their jobs due to COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

DeSantis ended his speech by saying, "You ain't seen nothing yet."
