ORLANDO, Fla. — Sanford's and Leesburg's high temperature soared to record highs Wednesday as abnormally warm winter conditions continued across Central Florida.

Leesburg's temperature hit 83 degrees, which breaks a record of 82 set in 2013. Sanford's temperature hit 85 degrees, which breaks are record of 83 that was set in 1989.

The average high temperature for this time of year in both cities is 70.

We have another warm day on the way Thursday but the only record in jeopardy may be Leesburg. We’ll burn off any dense morning fog with a mostly sunny sky and highs in the lower 80s.

Are you ready to go from tank tops and flip flops back to jackets and jeans? A major pattern shift is on the way but not before another handful of warm days.

High pressure remains in control and keeps us well above average in the 80s Thursday. Enjoy a mostly sunny sky with just an isolated shower threat. A few widely scattered showers may develop as a weak cold front drops in Thursday night although most of us stay dry.

Winds from the north kick up Friday with a mix of sun and clouds, and highs in the upper 60s to middle 70s across Central Florida. Our weekend looks mild overall as we enjoy some sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 70s Saturday.

An even stronger cold front sweeps in Sunday with a few widely scattered showers and highs in the low to mid-70s. We dry out for MLK Day as highs dip into the 60s. Even colder air is in the works for next Tuesday and many of us may not even hit 60 for a high.

Beach and Surf Conditions

Grab a board and get ready for another round of decent surf tomorrow. Fair surfing conditions are forecast thanks to wave heights around two to four feet and an easing east to the east-southeast.

Ocean conditions and tides are still conducive to a moderate threat of rip currents.
