QUEENS, N.Y. - A major service change for "N" and "W" train riders in Queens.

The Astoria Boulevard stop is now closed for renovations through the end of the year.

Crews will be installing four new elevators at the station to make it fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The station's mezzanine and walkways are also being completely rebuilt, and the platforms will get new benches and lighting.

While Astoria Boulevard is closed, riders can use the Ditmars Boulevard or 30th Avenue stations as alternatives.

Meanwhile, transit advocates are headed to Albany on Monday to make the case for congestion pricing.

And they plan to bring sardine cans along with them to make a point about crowded subways and buses.

The deadline for the state budget is April 1 and it's not clear if state lawmakers will approve a congestion pricing plan.

So supporters of the plan are going to the state capitol today to push for passage of that bill, and will hand out cans of sardines to legislators,

The congestion pricing proposal would charge drivers a fee to enter Manhattan below 61st Street.

The money would be used to pay for transit upgrades.

Governor Cuomo says it will cost $40 billion to fix the transit system.
