A volunteer answering authorities' call for help in a search for a missing Honeoye Falls woman found her late Thursday morning cold, but otherwise safe.

An intensive search in the sky and on the ground focused on finding 19-year old Madeline Rose. The MCC student walked out of her home on Pride Street in Honeoye Falls Wednesday evening after a family dispute.

She left without shoes or a jacket and had not returned home by the morning.

After authorities asked citizens to join the search, dozens of people converged on the Honeoye Falls Fire Department. One of them driving toward the village found Rose in a pasture on Clover Street near Mendon Ponds Park.

"The nice thing about Honeoye Falls; it is a small village," said Honeoye Falls Fire Chief Mark Warden. "We all take care of each other and this is one way we show that appreciation of helping each neighbor out."

The volunteer who found Rose wished to remain anonymous.

She was suffering from hypothermia when she was found and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

More than 100 members of emergency response and law enforcement from Monroe County's east side took part in the search. It included the use of police helicopter, drones and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol.

"If we didn't do it the way we did it," said Monroe County Sheriff's Office Captain Paul DeLella, "she'd still be out there."
